[01.17.2012]Most of the issues that were originally solicited with polybags have had their formats changed. The issues will now ship with a sticker afixed to page 32 of each book that contains the Digital Copy Code. The only exceptions are

More Ultimate Comic-Con News! October Solicitations!
[07.25.2011]Its been a busy weekend here, so you'll have to excuse the lateness of this update. Let's start by first mentioning that the Ultimate Comics solicitations for October are up and running, so head on over to the Upcoming Releases page to check them out!
I attended the Marvel: Cup O' Joe panel on Saturday. Unfortunately, not much Ultimate news came of it. Senior Vice President of Sales David Gabriel said, "Keep your eye on Ultimate Spider-Man", while CCO Joe Quesada said Ultimate Comics Spider-Man will be "really, really exciting". There was plenty more on the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and talk about how much the Ultimate Universe has influenced the 616-Universe and Marvel television and film.
A fan asked about Marvel Zombies and the potential for an Ultimate/616 crossover, to which Joe Q. responded that they had nothing planned. He said that with Alex Alonso being the new Editor-in-Chief it was up to him, but maintained that he always felt the two universes should be separated.
I was unable to make it to the Spotlight On Jonathan Hickman panel, but here's a roundup of the Ultimate stuff: Hickman said about Ultimate Comics Ultimates, "It's kind of political, like how the Ultimates was when it first came out," adding that the US is "overextended" in the first story arc. Hickman also said, "There's no Captain America. There is Thor and Iron Man, and the rest of the team". Hickman went on to call Nick Spencer "the real deal" and stated that Spencer has got "serious chops."

[07.21.2011]I was able to attend the Marvel: Next Big Thing panel at Comic-Con today and here's the Ultimate news I was able to put together: Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer (as well as Alex Alonso) continually stressed that the Ultimate books will be released on time and hopefully more than 12 issues a year.
A fan said that he would come back in a year and throw it in their faces if the books were delayed to which Hickman and Spencer emphatically replied, "Please do!". Hickman mentioned, "its only three books - not 52". He said that Ultimates would be setting the stage for the entire Ultimate Universe. He said he eventually wants to bring in Falcon and that he hadn't been seen in a while. He said there are no plans for Ultimate Daredevil or Punisher. It was also said that EIC Alex Alonso looked hard at the Ultimate Universe and that the team was working hard to create a cohesive singular universe.
I got up and asked Nick Spencer who, beyond Kitty and Rogue, will be the main emphasis on the upcoming Ultimate Comics X-Men and his response was that many characters, including Storm, Colossus, Quicksilver, the cast of Ultimate X and Johnny Storm and Iceman would be in, but ended his answer with, "If they're a mutant, they'll be in it". He said that Kitty and Rogue will be looking at mutants with an entirely new argument beyond, "Can we coexist with humans peacefully, versus we must show our superiority to humans". He said the overall theme would be "belief" and "faith". He also said that Karen Grant/Jean Grey's statement of "no more X-Men" will be addressed and to remember that it was Jean saying it - not everyone will agree with her.
Hickman said that the cast of Ultimate X will be a big part of the Ultimate Comics Hawkeye series and that it will have a big twist coming concerning mutants. Spencer also mentioned that the hat that Iceman wears on the cover of Ultimate Comics X-Men #1 "is already gone, so don't worry!". As a final bit of news, while the new Spider-Man's identity could not be discussed, it was let slip that Spider-Man will be a male. This thankfully kills my theory that it would turn out to be either Mary Jane or Gwen! They did mention that Ultimate Comics Spider-Man would be "shocking". That was it for Ultimate news at the Marvel: Next Big Thing panel, but tune in Saturday as I give news from the Marvel: Cup O' Joe panel!

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man Relaunches!
[05.05.2011]CBR has coverage of the final conference call for the "Ultimate Comics Universe Reborn" relaunch, this time announcing writer Brian Michael Bendis teaming with previous Ultimate Comics Spider-Man artist Sara Pichelli as the creative team on the to-be-relaunched Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, which ships in September!
On the possibility that the relaunch would see Bendis leave the book, Bendis was quoted as saying "They will have to pry this book from my cold dead hands. I joke, but seriously". As for what's to come in the new Ultimate Comics Spider-Man series, the new Spider-Man will have new powers that Peter Parker did not, based on spider research Bendis conducted himself. New and old supporting cast members will meet and there will be returning villains, new villains, and Ultimizations of classic villains that haven't been done yet, while Mysterio will remain a major threat. And a bit of info I found particularly interesting: Gwen Stacy "will have a lot going on this year"...
As to the question of whether the public at large will know that something has happened to Spider-Man, Bendis said that would be addressed in the Ultimate Comics Fallout. Also announced was that all the Ultimate books will be shipping more than 12 times a year! Check out the link for a full recap!

[05.04.2011]Day Three of "Ultimate Week" continues as CBR has yet more coverage of a conference call, this time announcing Ultimate Comics Hawkeye! Jonathan Hickman, writer of the previously announced Ultimate Comics Ultimates, and returning Ultimate artist Rafa Sandoval will be the team on the four issue Hawkeye solo series!
Another Ultimate series is to be announced around noon tomorrow! Also, Marvel Zombies Supreme #4 has been released!

[11.17.2010]Okay, February's Ultimate Comics solicitations are finally up, but you'll notice some problems. While Marvel made the press releases about the "Death of Spider-Man" event that contained vague solications for Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #153 & 154 and a 6 issues mini-series called Ultimate Avengers Vs. New Ultimates
(which may or may not be replacing Ultimate Comics Avengers 4 - there have been no official confirmations either way), they did not actually give issue descriptions, covers or anything resembling their regular solicitations. On top of that, they didn't provide releases dates for nearly any titles. I was able to finally drum up the information, but consider it tentative and not 100% official.
And to top it all off, there are some big delays in December and some HUGE Ultimate Comics X delays. Check out the Upcoming Releases page for more info.
